TODAY WE ARE FOCUSED ON HOW DEMENTIA IS IMPACTING THE BLACK COMMUNITY. AGE-SPECIFIC PREVALENCE OF DEMENTIA IS 14% TO 100% HIGHER IN AFRICAN AMERICANS. ACCORDING TO THE ALZHEIMER’S ASSOCIATION, OLDER AFRICAN AMERICANS ARE TWICE AS LIKELY TO HAVE DEMENTIA THAN OLDER WHITE AMERICANS.
